Plant, Mix, and Mingle

Gather your friends and have some fun during our new hands-on workshops in our horticulturally inspired Garden Shop. On select Tuesday evenings in May and June, enjoy light refreshments and unwind as you create a beautiful terrarium perfect for your home or to give as a gift. Each workshop includes the design demonstration, all materials, plants, glass vessel, and light refreshments.
Make Longwood a Part of Your Child’s Summer Plans
With school almost out for the year, now is the time to make Longwood a part of your child's summer plans. We offer opportunities for both onsite and at-home exploration to keep your child entertained (and learning!) this summer. Set within the stunning surroundings of our Gardens, our new summer workshops help children explore the natural world and express what they see in a whole new light, while learning alongside our expert instructors. Our Summer Discovery Box (on sale June 1) is filled with nature-inspired activities from growing herb plants to creating dried wildflower magnets, designed to provide your child with hours of fun.
Celebrate the Art of Topiary
Join us as we celebrate World Topiary Day along with gardens around the globe. Founded in 2021 by Levens Hall and Gardens (Cumbria, UK)—home to the oldest topiary garden in the world—this May 12 occasion (which we’re celebrating May 12, 13, and 14) recognizes the beauty, art, and joys of topiary. Explore our Topiary Gardens’ whimsical forms and learn how we’ve meticulously trained the yews over many decades. Horticulture experts will be on hand from 10 am to 4 pm each day to answer your topiary questions.
Sip Along to Exceptional Jazz
Enjoy the sights and sounds of live music while savoring a selection of wines throughout our Gardens. Performers include Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Christian McBride’s New Jawn, The Hot Sardines, the just-announced The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, and more! After the sun goes down, enjoy our jazz-inspired Take the A Train to Birdland Illuminated Fountain Performance to round out your day
Can’t wait for Saturday’s Wine & Jazz festivities? Start your fun early with a special nighttime Wine & Jazz All Stars performance in our Open Air Theatre on June 3.
Limited tickets remain for both Wine & Jazz All Stars and the Wine & Jazz Festival; bundle tickets are available.
Get Cooking
It’s a deliciously fun time of year here in our Gardens … and it’s a perfect time of year to prepare refreshing selections that celebrate the bounty of the season.
