The Global Friendship Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on the evening of Thursday, November 17 in the Shriver Center Dolibois Room and you are invited!
Please reserve your seats by Wednesday, November 9.

Join us to share this American tradition of gratitude with old and new friends. You can enjoy a buffet-style Thanksgiving dinner with traditional dishes like roast turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and more. There will also be activities, arts, and crafts. The Mayor of Oxford will join us, along with other special guests. We will also be announcing the winner of the Donald Nelson Award for Outstanding International Student Support.

| Some IEW highlights you don't want to miss on November 14:
- 4:00 - 5:00 pm in the International Student Center (MacMillan 017), join therapy dogs Mary and Okie for some hugs and pets. Student Counseling staff will also be there to provide info about mental health and self-care. There will also be space to write a positive message to another student and receive one yourself.

5:00 - 7:00 pm in the lower level lounge of MacMillan Hall, come "break bread" with the Miami community and sample a variety of breads from around the world.

Saturday, November 5 from 7:30-9:30pm in the Armstrong Wilks Theater, the Indian Students Association will host their annual Diwali Show.

Thinking about traveling outside the U.S. in the upcoming months?
International students planning to travel outside the U.S. should check the entry and travel requirements for the destination country and consider the following for re-entry to the U.S. before departure.
To re-enter the U.S. while enrolled as a student, you will need:
- Valid passport (will not expire in the next 6 months)
- Valid F-1 or J-1 visa

Valid I-20 or DS-2019 signed for travel

You should request your travel signature via InterLink at least two weeks before your departure.

Thanksgiving Break Reminders
From November 23 to November 27, there will be no classes and most university services will be closed or have shorter hours. Check the specific Miami facilities and services websites for schedule details. Please note the following:

Residence halls will close at 12pm on Wednesday, November 23 and will re-open at 9am on Sunday, November 27. Many students choose to leave campus during Thanksgiving Break, but students may still request to stay on-campus through their Online Housing Account. Please see the Campus Services website for more details and cost of University Break Housing.
- If you plan on traveling outside of Oxford, Hamilton, or Middletown during Thanksgiving
Break, arrange accordingly for your residence hall or off-campus residence (turn off electronics, secure doors and windows, arrange pet care, etc.).

Campus Services offers airport shuttles before and after Thanksgiving break.

Share a story from your culture! International students are invited to read an age-appropriate story at at Mini University, the childcare center located on Western Campus on Monday, November 14 from 10-11am. If you are interested in reading a story from your home country to the kids, reach out to Karla at guinigkm@MiamiOH.edu.
