Dear Parents,
As we head into the middle of the holiday season and lots of travel and family gatherings, we wanted to share three items with you.
Firstly, we want to thank everyone for staying vigilant over the Thanksgiving Break. All our COVID-19 tests from the week after Thanksgiving came back negative. That means that since the start of the school year, we have run over 1600 Covid Tests on students and staff and have had zero positive results. Thank you.
Secondly, we will require everyone to take a COVID-19 test before returning to school on January 4th. We prefer a PCR test, but an Antigen Rapid test is acceptable. If your child is taking a PCR test, please do it a few days before school starts, so you have the results by January 4th. If you use a rapid test, please do it on the evening of the 3rd or the morning of the 4th.
We will not be asking you to share the actual results with us but to attest on the heath attestation form that your child(ren) has taken the test and the results are negative.
If you would like a Rapid Test, the school has a limited supply of them, just email me, and I will send one home with your child before the break. Alternatively, you can pick one up from school on Monday, January 3rd.
Lastly, as vaccinations are now available to children ages five and older, we would like to understand the portion of our students who are vaccinated. This will help inform us of future COVID-19 protocols. If you have a student in grades K-8, we ask that you fill in this confidential vaccination survey.
