SpotDraft Raises $26M, Showing that Contract Lifecycle Management Remains Profitable
SpotDraft is one of a growing number of CLM vendors trying to stand out in the increasingly crowded field. Led by Shashank Bijapur and Carnegie Mellon University alumni Madhav Bhagat and Rohith Salim, the company has announced a $26M Series A funding round led by Premji Invest, which also had participation from Prosus Ventures, 021 Capital, Arkam Ventures, Riverwalk Fund and 100x Entrepreneur Fund.

Endolumik Receives FDA Clearance for Flagship
Product and Safer Technology Designation
Endolumik, an innovator in minimally-invasive surgical devices, has announced that its fluorescence guided Gastric Calibration Tube has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance. CMU adjunct professor and Tepper School of Business alumnus Mara McFadden is the CEO.

Carrick Capital Partners Invests in LegalSifter

Carrick Capital Partners, a growth-oriented investment firm focused on software and software-enabled businesses, has announced the closing of its investment in LegalSifter, a technology company that leverages differentiated artificial intelligence and human expertise to provide pre- and post-signature contracts-related software and managed services.

LegalSifter is an OFEF participant with the Swartz Center, and started at BirchmereLabs with Sean Ammirati as the lead investor and Chairman.

Entrepreneur First Office Hours at the CMU Swartz Center

Entrepreneur First (EF) is the best place for ambitious people to meet a co-founder. 

For the first time, Entrepreneur First is coming to Pittsburgh to meet founders. Alice Bentinck, co-founder, and Derek Jouppi, a former nanotech founder from Entrepreneur First, are holding office hours for aspiring entrepreneurial CMU PhDs, Masters and undergraduate students who will be defending/graduating this year. Alice and Derek want to learn about your research, projects, societies and aspirations for founding a startup. Interested? Fill out the interest form!

Apply to the VentureBridge Summer Accelerator!
 

The VentureBridge Summer Accelerator is a 12-week program that helps CMU startups by investing capital ($25K SAFE Note), providing office space in Silicon Valley, New York and Pittsburgh, as well as making introductions to mentors, experts and investors.

Eligible teams must have at least one CMU affiliated alumni founder. All applications must include a pitch deck and a two-minute pitch video. Applications are due by
Friday, March 31, 2023 at midnight.
