RCE Greater Atlanta Quarterly Meeting brings network together again
Thank you to everyone who came together at Atlanta City Hall on January 28!
| |
Over 100 people joined us for our first in-person quarterly meeting since 2020. The meeting brought together civic leaders, activists, educators, business leaders, researchers, students, and concerned citizens from across the Greater Atlanta area. Despite coming from different parts of the region, and from a wide variety of backgrounds, everyone shared an interest in supporting the region’s moving toward the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Thank you to the City of Atlanta for hosting us at City Hall, and for the City's new Chief Sustainability Officer Chandra Farley for being our keynote speaker.

Emory Rolling Suitcase DriveDonation Dates: February 10-13, 2023
| |
Emory's Urban Health Inititative (UHI) has developed a rolling suitcase drive in support of Atlanta's homeless population in conjunction with the Atlanta Mission. Suitcases have consistently been one of the most needed items for donation, due to the fact that so many individuals travel between shelters every day. From February 10-13, the Atlanta Mission will be accepting suitcase donations to help those experiencing homelessness.
"Since 1938, thousands of newly homeless women and children have utilized the Atlanta Mission day shelter, often escaping domestic violence. When Aidman visited, the day shelter was independent and stood four miles away from the night shelter, which housed approximately 1,000 individuals nightly. Families often walked the distance between the two shelters, carrying their possessions in plastic bags."
