Thank you for being a part of Giving Day

More than 7,600 members of the Vanderbilt community, including alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends, joined together on Giving Day, April 7, to donate more than $5 million to help advance the university’s mission of education, discovery and leadership. Giving Day included more than 50 challenges offered by donors to encourage gifts and amplify impact, and more than 350 Vanderbilt parents participated, unlocking an anonymous challenge gift of $25,000 for Opportunity Vanderbilt.

Return to Campus update

Vanderbilt has announced that fall semester classes will be offered in person. “Attending classes in person and having the residential experience are vital as students integrate and immerse themselves in campus life,” Chancellor Daniel Diermeier said. “I look forward to applying the lessons learned from the past year as we return to the full in-person learning that is integral to student life and to our educational mission at Vanderbilt.”

Working group will explore changes to COVID-19 safety protocols for summer, fall 2021

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente and Vice Chancellor Eric Kopstain have announced the launch of a new working group to review the university’s COVID-19 protocols in light of changing CDC guidelines. The group will make recommendations on any potential updates for the summer and fall 2021 semesters.

Get One Step Ahead: A unique summer program, rewarding experience

With all the unknowns and uncertainties of the past year, many students are likely looking for ways to strengthen their educational experience and set their careers on the right track. Gaining business skills, knowledge and professional work experience this summer will help your student get one step ahead and set them apart from other candidates when it’s time for them to launch their career. Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management offers a unique online summer program called Accelerator® Virtual Business Immersion that equips current college students and recent graduates with business fundamentals, consulting experience through a real client project, and career preparation. We invite you to explore the program and check out last year’s client project. We offer virtual events and information sessions so students can learn more about the program, coursework and benefits. Vandy-in-Hollywood program offers diverse student voices a unique path to entertainment industry

The Vandy-in-Hollywood summer internship program, now approaching its 15th summer, has redoubled its focus on diversity by establishing a scholarship fund that enables all students to participate. The program traditionally places about 30 current Vanderbilt students in summer internships in the Los Angeles-area entertainment industry each year. This summer, the program’s founders, along with the Vanderbilt Career Center, are taking the experience virtual.

Affordable Care Act in the Supreme Court: Vanderbilt faculty panel

Vanderbilt faculty experts will discuss the U.S. Supreme Court’s potential upcoming Affordable Care Act decisions and their potential constitutional impact and political ramifications on health and economic policy and the health insurance industry. The event will be on Tuesday, April 27, from noon to 1 p.m. CT.
