Emergency Broadband Benefit Program
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying low-income households. If a household is eligible, they can receive up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals. Participants will be able to enroll beginning Wednesday, May 12th, by visiting getemergencybroadband.org. Eligibility can be verified with the National Verifier Consumer Portal. Wilson Communications Announces its 2021 Scholarship Recipients
Each year, Wilson Communications awards at least two scholarships to students in each of its seven communities it serves and last year, with its expansion into Ellsworth, they now also offer a scholarship to an Ellsworth High School graduate. "My grandfather, Paul Grauer, started the program in 1984. Education was always important to him and we continued the program as way of giving back to the communities we serve," says Scott Grauer, President/CEO of Wilson Communications. "This is just one of the many ways we help support our communities," he added. Since the program's inception, Wilson Communications has selected over 350 scholarship recipients and awarded nearly $161,000.00. "This year, Wilson Communications received 12 applications from area students and awarded eleven, $650 scholarships," added Scott. The awards were presented at the recipients school's award banquets. "I enjoy being able to present the awards and seeing the excitement as these students prepare for their next steps. Our congratulations to all of the 2021 graduates," said Craig Freeman, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Communications. The 2021 recipients are:
