Penn LDI is pleased to announce 12 new pilot grants for projects led by 41 LDI Senior and Associate Fellows, and colleagues. Presented in partnership with Penn’s new initiative, Bold Solutions: Dismantle Racism, Advance Health, the grants support projects that will help accelerate the science of structural, institutional, and interpersonal racism.
Sponsored by Penn LDI and Boston University School of Public Health, the Fifth Annual Population Health Science Research Workshop featured a keynote address by economist Trevon Logan, who analyzed the historical and present-day roots of the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on the Black community.
Rebecca Anastos-Wallen, Paula Chatterjee, and Rachel Werner examine how the ACA's Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) shifted Medicaid long term care from institutions to home, finding that it increased the burden of informal caregivers of low socioeconomic status.
Amelia Van Pelt and David Rubin evaluate five different screening strategies for colleges and universities to identify COVID-19 cases among students in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
A virtual town hall co-sponsored by Penn's Perelman School of Medicine, Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity, Inc., and the NIH’s COVID-19 Prevention Network addressed community concerns over COVID-19 vaccines. Florence Momplaisir and Carmen Guerra were among the featured speakers.
