The Pillar Press: December 2021
Greetings from St. Paul!
The holiday season is in full swing, and what a joy it is to hear Christmas songs being sung by little voices in preparation for the upcoming Christmas program and experience the magic of the season through the eyes of elementary-age children. As St. Paul continues to celebrate 50 years, we have so much to be thankful for—most importantly, our St. Paul community of students, parents, alumni and alumni families, and grandparents. Everyone who has walked the halls has provided the school with traditions to pass along, and a unique foundation of love, passion for Christ, and academic excellence that we trust will continue to bless students for generations to come.
Last month we kicked off our Annual Fund campaign, All for St. Paul with current parents after reaching 100% participation from our faculty, staff, and board of trustees earlier this year. As we seek participation from all members of our community, I hope that you will consider supporting St. Paul as well. Please be on the lookout for additional information in the mail in the coming weeks. Every gift makes a difference in the quality and quantity of opportunities we are able to offer St. Paul students, and when we are All for St. Paul, our students and faculty thrive.
As always, I invite you to share with us any news you have about yourself—employment updates, special awards or recognitions, or life events such as getting married or becoming a parent. We want to celebrate you through any milestone, big or small!  Please send me your news or click on the link below:

Scott Hearon '00

2021 Alumni Service Award Recipient

Scott Hearon is a native Nashvillian who grew up playing youth sports in gyms and fields all over Middle Tennessee. He found his niche as a gifted leader and communicator among his teammates and coaches at a young age. With a clear desire for something more for himself and the young people he led, Scott set out on a journey to become a full-hearted leader and to develop opportunities to help other coaches come along and do the same. Scott co-founded the Nashville Coaching Coalition in 2015. He began as the full-time Executive Director in 2016, intending to create a growth-focused and supportive community where Middle Tennessee's most important youth influencers and athletic coaches can become the very best version of themselves.
The alumni service award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has positively impacted the quality of people's lives through service to others above and beyond their call of duty; whose personal or professional accomplishments leave a distinct mark on the lives of those around them; and who upholds the values of St. Paul Christian Academy.

On September 25, 2021, over 350 members from our community came together to celebrate St. Paul's 50th year at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. It was a magical night as head of school Will Norton, along with emcee and alumni parent, Paul Lim, shared glimpses of our history and alumni stories of transformation, culminating with an inspiring vision for our 50th year. Guests from all walks of St. Paul, including alumni from the 1970s and former heads of school Martha Harris (1993-2000) and Ken Cheeseman (2000-2016), enjoyed fellowship, dinner, and entertainment by St. Paul parents Kristyn and Keith Getty, the Chuck Callahan Trio, and our very own St. Paul students.
