Tips -- AMCAS Letters of Evaluation

Letters of Evaluation are an important part of your medical school application. Here are some important tips and resources to help you and your letter writers navigate the process.
- Review the steps and FAQs of how you letter writer can submit a letter to AMCAS.
- Check the Medical School Admissions Requirements (MSAR) tool and school websites to confirm the requirements for the schools to which you are applying.
- Share the AMCAS Letter Writer page with your letter authors to ensure the letter they write meets the requirements. They can also use the tips from our Guidelines for Writing a Letter of Evaluation for a Medical School Applicant resource to craft your letter.
- You can create up to 10 entries in the application, allowing you to target letters to schools.
- You may submit your application even if your letters of evaluation have not yet arrived at AMCAS. Once your application is verified and letters of evaluation are received by AMCAS, a letter cannot be taken back.

The status of your letters can be reviewed in the Letters of Evaluation or Medical School Summary screen in your AMCAS application.
