NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Multi-talented, country singer/songwriter Mark Ware has partnered with South Carolina-based Southern Sailings (specializing in theme and fan-based cruises and vacations) and local residents of Latitude Margaritaville to organize a special Mexico cruise package to benefit Hardeeville and Jasper County K9 units (Hardeeville, SC and Ridgeland, SC respectively). Ware, a resident of Monticello, Georgia dedicated to public service, former training chief at Georgia Butts County Fire Department (Jackson, GA) and an active reserve deputy for the county, has committed his time and talent to perform in a private concert aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.
The four-day/four-night excursion will depart on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from Miami and travel to Cozumel, Mexico. Proceeds from the specialty package will be donated to procure K9 safety vests for Hardeeville and Jasper County K9 Units. Leading the initiative, Ware, in conjunction with sponsor Irondog K9 International, has donated a vest to each department.
"I have personally witnessed what these K9s do to protect our communities and remove crime from our streets,” said Mark Ware. “Partnering with Southern Sailings, Irondog K9 International and the Latitude Margaritaville community to support these K9 officers has been a personal and fulfilling endeavor and my honor.”
“Ranging anywhere between $1500 to $2000 a piece, the vests are expensive, and most handlers are required to purchase vests for the protection of their K9 partners (not provided by the city or county),” added Janice Brockmeyer/CEO, Southern Sailings who shares a mutual passion. “We are appreciative of Mark Ware’s time and talents to heighten awareness and the success of this charitable campaign and the cruise package.”
Ware’s participation in the K9 Cruise package comes on the heels of the release of his music video “Get It On.” Filmed in his hometown, the clip captures the spirit and camaraderie of the proud and tightly-knit Monticello community.
