Continued Success for Fifth Form Girls Squash Player

Fifth former Jana S. took home 1st place in the Girls Under 17 division at the US Squash Greenwich Junior Gold. Jana was undefeated during her first season at Kent, and last season secured the New England Class B Tournament championship title for the second year in a row.

Aviation Program Takes Flight

Ten students have successfully completed their Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) drone license. This certification demonstrates a thorough understanding of flight regulations, operations, and safety. The students had meetings for two to four hours each week and practiced flying a Cirrus aircraft on the school’s cockpit simulator. They are pictured here with Captain Terrance Haynie.

Gary Brayshaw '58

Gary Brayshaw ’58 has recently published book three of The Machination Trilogy, Repechage, on Amazon. This trilogy is the culmination of 63 years of work dating back to when he began his studies at Kent School. 

Marie Yovanovitch '76

Marie Yovanovitch '76, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, recently testified at the congressional impeachment hearings on November 15. Treat Williams '69 &

Will Wallace '84

Treat Williams '69 and Will Wallace '84 were photographed recently at the premiere of their new film, “The Great Alaskan Race.” Will produced and acted in the film, while Treat is featured as the town doctor. 

Diyi Zhang '15

Diyi Zhang ’15 was one of the Rhode Island School of Design students who worked to design an affordable housing community in Providence, Rhode Island. The project, called Sheridan Small Homes, consists of five 750-square foot net-zero homes.

Kena Gilmour '16

Kena Gilmour ’16 was recently selected for the 2019-20 D3hoops.com Preseason Men’s All-America Team! Kena is on the second team and is one of 25 athletes recognized from NCAA Division III schools. He was also the 2019 NESCAC Player of the Year. 

Julia Nearis '19

Congratulations to Julia Nearis ’19 on being named Hockey East Rookie of the Week! At Kent, Julia captained the varsity team to their 2019 New England Championship and was MVP during her four years.

Holiday Reception

All alumni are invited to attend the Kent School Holiday Reception Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6-9pm at the New York Yacht Club. Please register online by December 3 and contact Judy Alderman in the Alumni & Development Office with any questions.

Winter Forum

Save the date for the Alumni Council Winter Forum to be held on January 28, 2020 at 6pm at the Yale Club of New York City. More information to come.

Festival Eucharist for Church & School

In Thanksgiving for 40 years of Fr. Schell's leadership, a Festival Eucharist for Church & School will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 10:30am in the Springs Center, Kent School. More information to follow. 

Appreciation for Headmaster Dick Schell '69

So that the Kent School community might demonstrate our collective appreciation for the leadership of Headmaster Dick Schell, the Alumni & Development Office is asking Alumni to send us their personal notes of appreciation. Our office will be creating a memory book which we will present to the Headmaster on the occasion of his retirement. 

Additionally, Kent's Archivist, Katy Armstrong, is creating a special tribute for the Headmaster in the School Library. She is requesting that you send to her any photos that you have of yourself with the Headmaster.
