FAQs ABOUT THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR

We know there are many questions surrounding the 2021-22 school year.

BISD has developed a running list of FAQs that include the reasoning behind holding in-person learning, how mealtime will be handled and what happens if your child is asked to quarantine.
If you have additional general questions regarding COVID-19 practices in our schools — ones you think the answers would be beneficial for the greater community to hear — please submit them via this form and we will do our best to include them on the list of FAQs. For specific questions regarding your student, please contact the school directly.
2020-21 BISD FAMILY HANDBOOK
Hot off the press!

Here is the 2021-22 BISD Family Handbook with key information about BISD.  This is a handy guide and a good place to start when you have questions involving the district's policies and practices.

ATTESTATION FORM - GUARDIANS PLEASE COMPLETE
Attestation
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that schools do not conduct daily symptom screening for K-12 students due to the ineffectiveness of on-site screening. Instead, the CDC encourages guardians to monitor their children for symptoms of infectious illness every day through home-based symptom screening prior to sending the student to school.

GUARDIANS: Please complete this form attesting that you will monitor your child(ren) daily for symptoms of illness (including taking their temperature) and not send them to school when ill.

PLEASE NOTE: School health rooms are very diligent and will send students home if they are exhibiting signs of illness.

BISD COVID-19 TESTING SITE TO OPEN NEXT WEEK
BISD plans on opening its COVID-19 testing site on August 25th.

HOURS: Starting August 25th, the testing site is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (and after school begins, the site will be open 6:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.)
LOCATION: The testing site is located behind the District Office, 8489 Madison Ave. N, between Ordway Elementary and the Aquatic Center.
COST: There is no out-of-pocket cost for the test; insurance may be billed for the PCR test but there will be no copay.
K-6 TRANSPORTATION SURVEY
As we move forward with the 2021-22 school year, we are anticipating increased vehicle traffic around our schools during our arrival and dismissal times.
To help us plan traffic patterns and mitigate wait times, we need to gauge the different ways our students will be transported to and from school. Please complete this survey (for each of your K-6 students) and submit your response by Monday, August 23rd.

KEEPING WITH TRADITION
back to school sign first day of school sign
The Kopetti brothers hope to meet new friends (Kal) and improving reading (Brooks).
Calling all students − here's a chance to connect with others by printing and completing this year's 2021-22 School Year sign and snapping a photo of yourself holding it. This has become an annual tradition and it's great fun to see the responses and learn about one another.

Please send your photo to ebischoff@bisd303.org and we will create a first-day-of-school sideshow.
