Congratulations to Sean Young and Julie Moore!
They were married on February 29 at Tampa Bay Watch on Tierra Verde Island in St. Petersburg Beach.
After a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer, long time St. Luker Laura Forleo passed away on Thursday, March 5 at the age of 66. She is survived by her husband Richard McFadyen and her son Marcio Forleo and daughter-in-law Jacaklyn.

Laura enjoyed a career in banking prior to joining the healthcare industry where she spent the last 20 years in various nursing positions at AdventHealth Orlando (formerly Florida Hospital) finishing up her career as head of Care Coordination for the Urology Group in the Florida Cancer Institute.

Having been raised in Brazil as a Methodist, she became an active member of St. Luke’s in 1997 and participated enthusiastically in the mission efforts of the church. She crowned her mission work with a trip to Ethiopia with a Florida Hospital team. Missions were Laura's heartfelt passion. Memorial gifts are being made in Laura’s honor to the Capital Mission Endowment Fund at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Laura's memorial service has been postponed due to the COVID-19 virus. We will post a date for her service on our website once the family has selected a new date and it is safe for all to attend. Please continue to lift up Richard, Marcio, and Jacaklyn in your prayers.

St. Lukers Caring for Neighbors and Friends
St. Luker Randy Lowe of Lowe and Behold Events, recently invited the community to pick up free flowers to share with friends, family, and neighbors during this time of physical distancing.

Linda & Larry Brenneman picked up a back seat full of beautiful blooms to share with friends. Two of the Brennenman's friends reported back that they had split their flowers and shared their bouquets with their neighbors as well. It was a pay-it-forward day all around!

St. Luke's and Partners Feed 424 in One Day

Last week, St. Luke's helped coordinate a food distribution day for Restoring Hope families, Circles families and East Winter Garden residents in partnership with Poverty Solutions Group, Shepherd’s Hope and members of the Central Florida Alliance to End Hunger: Society of St. Andrew - Florida, American Heart Association, and UF IFAS Solutions. Volunteers, including previous St. Luke’s youth, picked cucumbers for the distribution day. The 1,700 pounds of fresh produce was enough to donate to other organizations including: the Dream Center, Finding the Lost Sheep, and a food pantry in East Winter Garden, Mosaic Church, and families served through the EWG Neighborhood Alliance. Thanks to Kalera Inc. for their generous donation of lettuce and to the American Heart Association in partnership with the University of Florida’s food and nutrition.
