Making History Together: Upcoming Sesquicentennial offers opportunity to consider our past, envision our future

In 2023, Vanderbilt will mark the 150th anniversary of our founding—our Sesquicentennial. Vanderbilt is planning a yearlong series of celebrations and commemorative events in which our entire Vanderbilt community will be invited to consider our past and, especially, to envision our future.

Immersion Vanderbilt: Upcoming Deadline for Sophomore Class  

Experience. Reflect. Ideate. Create. 
Immersion Vanderbilt provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to pursue their passions and cultivate intellectual interests through experiential learning. This intensive learning experience takes place in and beyond the classroom and culminates in the completion of a final project.
Sophomore students must submit their first milestone form in the Immersion Vanderbilt portal by April 7, 2023. Students who transferred to Vanderbilt University as juniors this year must also submit their first form by the same date.

Vanderbilt Blair Big Band selected to participate in elite jazz competition at Lincoln Center

Vanderbilt Blair School of Music’s Blair Big Band is among 10 outstanding college jazz orchestras from across the nation invited to participate in the third annual Jack Rudin Jazz Championship. The event, which will be Jan. 14 and 15 at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, will include workshops, performances and a high-level collegiate competition.

Vanderbilt recently announced the creation of the Ingram Center for Student-Athlete Success, to be funded with part of the lead gift to the Vandy United campaign made by longtime supporter and Board of Trust member John R. Ingram. Housed within the McGugin Center, this initiative represents a restructured approach to how Vanderbilt Athletics will support academic, personal and career development.
