ESSER III Funding and the Arts
The arts can play an important role in engaging Nebraska students and accelerating learning as our state emerges from pandemic-related education challenges. This year the Nebraska Department of Education received $545,908,619 in ESSER III federal funds, a part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) for schools.
ESSER III funds can be used for programs that accelerate student learning during the school day, after school, summer, and other out-of-school programs. Reimagining family and community engagement, ensuring equitable access for students, and support of student learning are among the priorities identified by NDE for use of these funds. Community arts providers and local school districts can work together to address these priorities through the arts.
