Tricycle Gardens' Urban Agriculture Certificate & Fellowship Program
Tricycle Gardens, based in Richmond, VA, is a nonprofit organization with a mission to grow healthy food, healthy communities and a healthy local food system. Tryicycle Gardens recently recieved $200,000 in grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Resources Conservation Service and from Bon Secours Richmond Health System to launch urban agriculture certification program .
“The face of agriculture is changing, and urban agriculture is one of the latest movements” says Tricycle Gardens Executive Director Sally G. Schwitters.
Tricycle Gardens is now accepting applications for the 2017 Urban Agriculture Certificate & Fellowship Program.
The Urban Ag Fellowship is a unique, learner-centered program that combines classroom training in Sustainable Urban Agriculture Skills and Practices, Business Development, and Food Systems studies with on-the-farm training on Tricycle’s Urban Ag sites and in Tricycle’s mission programs.
