Fall 2015
Dear HOSA Alumni,
We are very pleased to share this fall edition of the ALUMNI NEWSLETTER with you. This year, HOSA is celebrating its 40th Anniversary! Be on the lookout for a future e-mail enlisting YOU in helping us celebrate this momentous occasion!
The Alumni Spotlights in this newsletter are from three very interesting HOSA Alumni with three very different stories. It is our hope that you will enjoy each perspective. As the Alumni Division continues to grow and improve, we will be finding a variety of ways to keep you engaged with HOSA at the national level as well as at the local and state levels. If you would like to give back to this organization by mentoring, judging, or sponsoring a local event or chapter, please reach out to your state advisor. The contact information as well as links to our Internship, Free e-Learning, and Jobs pages are connected at the bottom of this message.
Where are you? What are you doing? How can your experiences help other future health professionals in the world of work? Please share your story by sending your photo and your story to hosa@hosa.org.

Local HOSA Officers Go to Washington
State HOSA Officers have been attending the Washington Leadership Academy for the past eight years. This year a new track was designed specifically for local HOSA officers. Over fifty local members were part of this successful new program! WLA had many exciting speakers and presentations including COL Deydre Teyhen, Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Health, Office of the Surgeon General; RADM Boris Lushniak, Deputy Surgeon General; Byron Garret and Kelly Barnes, motivational speakers. And don't forget to watch the inspirational Laying of the Wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. To see any presentation, click this link.
HOSA Welcomes the Middle School Division
At the 2015 National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, the Delegate Assembly voted to recognize middle school members as a separate division beginning with the 2015-2016 membership year. The division met all Bylaw requirements - the Alumni division welcomes the Middle School Division and looks forward to working with them to ensure their success! Read more about the Middle School Division here.
