Eighteen states and D.C. may not have enough physicians with hospital experience to meet the needs of patients hospitalized with COVID at the projected peak of the pandemic, according to studies by Kira Ryskina and colleagues. In a recent Medical Care study, Morgan Shields finds that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting Program reduced duration of restraint and seclusion by 50%.
