♪ Let every heart prepare Him room! ♫
Dear SUA Families,
Advent is a time of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Christ and we are reminded of how much we ourselves need a Savior. Our Advent Wreath, which includes four candles, is displayed outside the St. Angela Chapel. The three purple candles symbolize Prayer, Penance, and Preparation, and the one pink candle symbolizes Joy.
During this Advent season, the Arrows will be supporting two organizations for our annual Advent Collection.
We are partnering with After-School All-Stars to create winter "comfort bags" for the students and families they serve. Our collection will take place Wednesday, November 30 - Tuesday, December 13. We will be collecting new and gently used winter gear and fun items for kids, including the following:
- Winter hats and gloves
- Socks (children, men, and women sizes)
- Board games, card games, puzzles, craft kits, or new books (grades K-8)
We will also partner with Our Lady of Lourdes Soup Kitchen from Wednesday, November 30 - Friday, December 9, whose needs include the following:
- Peanut butter
- Macaroni and cheese
By sharing our blessings with others who have great needs, students prepare themselves for the true meaning of Christmas and for the coming of Christ.
