Dear Employees,
The health and well-being of our employees is critically important as we strive to become a premier place to work. Our talented employees are vital to UT’s mission to support excellence in teaching, learning, research, and daily operations.
In support of the health and wellness of our employees, the university is launching a new type of time off available to any leave-eligible employee to be used for any wellness activity supporting the prevention, treatment, or promotion of the employee’s physical, mental, or emotional well-being.
The new wellness time off will provide eligible employees with access to a maximum of eight (8) hours of wellness time off each fiscal year when they complete an annual preventative care visit and complete a “Well-Being Assessment” in the new UT Living Well Platform powered by Limeade. Once eligible employees have completed both a preventative care visit and an assessment in the Living Well Platform, a certification will be sent to Workday and the wellness time off will appear the following month for use. Please note that there is a separate process for employees who are not UT Select plan members.
For information on what preventative care visits apply to this time off type, how time off is prorated based on full or part time employment status, how employees who are not on the UT Select health insurance plan can secure their time off, and other frequently asked questions, visit the HR Wellness Time Off webpage.
It is important to note that this new wellness time off is in addition to the already existing time leave-eligible employees may use to attend HealthPoint Wellness events and seminars on work time. Employees are not required to use their new wellness time off to attend HealthPoint Wellness campus events but should be considered in addition to the university’s expansive offerings in promotion of overall well-being.
