Dear Graduate School Community,
Welcome to Spring 2023. With the new year in full swing, I hope you had time to relax during winter break and are ready to return to your classes and research. Later this semester, Vanderbilt will celebrate its Sesquicentennial with numerous programs planned. This celebration of Vanderbilt’s founding 150 years ago will launch in March.
This spring, you can expect the return of Friday Fuel and GPAS recently launched Write On! writing accountability groups. These are great opportunities to connect with your peers across different programs and share your common interests and research endeavors.
Finally, I want to remind you about our newest funding opportunity, The Lacy-Fischer Interdisciplinary Grants. Announced in December, these grants were designed to encourage graduate student-led research. With these grants, we aim to support interdisciplinary research teams working across at least two disciplines. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2023.
As always, the Graduate School is here to support you. Have a wonderful semester.
Best,
| |
C. André Christie-Mizell Vice Provost for Graduate Education Dean of the Graduate School Centennial Professor of Sociology
