Tulane University
Dear Tulane Community,

Tulane University, like universities nationwide, is seeing increased phishing attempts and attempts to defraud faculty, staff, and students, especially under the guise of seeking their assistance in response to COVID-19.

Please exercise caution when opening emails, clicking links and opening attachments from senders outside of the Tulane network. Such emails sent from outside the Tulane network will have a yellow "external sender" banner. Sometimes hackers attempt to impersonate members of the Tulane community to gain your trust, but the yellow banner is an indicator that it does not come from inside the Tulane network and should be treated with caution.

If you have any concerns about the validity of an email, please forward it to security@tulane.edu.

For questions and additional information about phishing and email security, please visit https://it.tulane.edu/phishing or email security@tulane.edu.

Sincerely,

Terry Laurent, CISSP GCIH GSEC GMON
