See the 2019 Faculty Exhibition

A tradition that spans more than eight decades, the Faculty Exhibition is a celebration of art, design, and their makers. Visit the exhibit to see new, original and innovative works from our world-renowned faculty. The show is on view in CIA's Reinberger Gallery through October 6.

Hollern curates Heights Arts exhibition

Visit Heights Arts to see Untouched: The Digital Paradox, curated by Matthew Hollern, professor and chair of Jewelry + Metals. The show also features work by CIA faculty members Barry Underwood and Tony Ingrisano, CIA alumni George Kozmon '82 and Marcus Brathwaite '13, and by Cuban artist Yasniel Valdes, a former CIA artist in residence. The exhibition explores the evolving role of technology in art and is on view through October 13.

Gutierrez solo show

Faculty member Steven Gutierrez has a solo show titled There is a Way at Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA). His work explores sustainable energy through solar powered and mechanical art sculptures. The show is on view from September 8 through October 20.

Chris Klein '98 was recently featured in Phoenix Home & Garden.
Desiree Oza-Zajacz '03 showed two watercolor paintings at Ursuline College’s Florence O’Donnell Wasmer Gallery group exhibition, 2019 Summer Mash-Up! in June.
Scott Goss '06 has work in Home is Where the He(Art) Is, a show at the Cleveland Public Library, Martin Luther King Jr. Branch. The show also features work from Kristen Cliffel '90, Timothy Callaghan '99, and Amber Ford '16, and is curated by high school students in the Cleveland Museum of Art's Currently Under Curation program.
Oliver Barrett '07 created box and card art for the game Unmatched by Restoration Games in partnership with Mondo Games. Read more about the game and see Oliver's artwork here.
Ashley Gerst '07 animated the title sequence of the film Can You Keep A Secret? starring Alexandra Daddario and Tyler Hoechlin. The film is in theaters September 13. 
Nikki Woods '12 has work featured in America’s Well-Armed Militias at Spaces Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. The show examines the histories of American culture, social movements, and gun use. The exhibition also features work from Darius Steward '08, and is on view through September 27.
Zach James '17 assisted with several projects at DECK of DICE Gaming, Inc. In the last year, the company launched a mobile game on several social casinos, including Facebook Instant Games, where it ranked in the top 1 percent of games featured on the platform. A Kickstarter and launch party for a board game will happen in September.

  • The Windgate Artist in Residence Program in the School of Art+Design at Purchase College in New York is accepting applications for artists working in craft. The deadline to apply for Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 residencies is September 8. 

  • Holden Forests & Gardens is seeking a graphic designer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have design experience with Adobe software. View the posting and apply.  

  • Artists Den in New York City is seeking a part-time production and editing assistant. 

  • Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago is seeking applicants for several open positions including, an assistant preparator; curatorial assistant; production designer; and media relations manager. Click here to see them. 

  • 18th Street Art Center in Santa Monica has one- to three-month visiting artist residency opportunities. Learn about the program.

  • Valley Art Center is hosting its 48th Annual Juried Art Exhibit. Artists living within a 250-mile radius of Chagrin Falls, Ohio are invited to submit artwork. The deadline to apply is October 11. Read more information.
