FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Welcome back, BHS!

We hope that your summer break was everything that you wanted it to be. We are so excited for this school year to get underway - there are going to be countless opportunities for our school community to connect this year. Our school goal for 22-23 is to continue to reconnect our students to in-person learning post-pandemic. We will continue to create consistent routines and structures across our building for our students to establish and maintain as much predictability as possible. We know this is best for not only academics, but for social emotional needs as well.

At this time we are planning for many traditional community activities such as our curriculum night open house to be in person. This newsletter will come out approximately every two weeks and will provide you with news from the school and from the district. Beyond that, look for invites from your student's teachers to their Google classroom sites within the first couple weeks of school, and check out the myriad of social media accounts that track many of our clubs and activities for fun updates as well by searching those platforms using keywords.

Families play a critical role in the success of their high school student. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any needs at any point.

Here's to a great year! Go Spartans!

SPARTAN SPIRIT STORE EXTENDED THRU TONIGHT!

Show off that Spartan Pride!

Good news! The online Spirit Store will remain open through tonight at 11:59pm. All purchases will be sent directly to your home 3-4 weeks after the store closes. There will be plenty more opportunities throughout the school year to purchase spirit gear, such as class t-shirts, Bay Hay & Feed style Spartan shirts, and more.
SPARTAN START UP IS TOMORROW 10AM-NOON

All new students are invited!

Spartan Start Up is tomorrow, September 6. Link Crew leaders look forward to welcoming all new students to campus starting at 10:00 AM. Many students received a phone call from their assigned leader. However, if your student student didn't receive a call, that's okay! Find any Link Crew leader wearing hot pink, and they will help you find your group.
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can get started in Paski Gym promptly at 10:00 AM. The orientation will end at approximately noon, followed by a pizza lunch generously sponsored by the BHS PTSO!

GRATITUDE FOR THE BHS PTSO

Many thanks to our BHS PTSO!

The school year has not even begun, yet our wonderful parent volunteers have already provided a beautiful brunch for our certificated staff, and will be providing pizza to our new students at Spartan Start Up tomorrow. Additionally, they have generously purchased school planners for all 9th and 10th graders to encourage strong organization skills throughout the upcoming school year.
If you're interested in getting involved with the BHS PTSO, please email the volunteer coordinators at bhs.volunteers@bainbridgeptos.org.
We thank you for your partnership!

STUDENT CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE

The Chromebook insurance window is open until Oct. 7.

Did you know that the cost to replace a damaged student Chromebook is $428 but the cost for accidental insurance coverage is $35 a year?

To minimize the risk of potential fines, we encourage families with students in grades 5-12 to enroll in accidental insurance coverage. For more information about Chromebook accidental damage insurance, please visit the Technology Services webpage to read the Student Device Insurance FAQ.

The window for signing up for the insurance closes on Friday, Oct.  7. Click here to purchase the insurance.

Families facing financial challenges may request to have the insurance fee waived for the year through this online form
