The Dutch Letter, a Central College alumni newsletter
Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018
Hello, Central College alumni, parents and friends! The Central College Dutch Letter keeps you in touch with what’s happening on campus and in our communities. Please share with your Central friends.
Homecoming
Homecoming Weekend began with the Ron Schipper Memorial Golf Tournament. The event, led by Chad Klein '92 and Travis Thompson '96, brought together 100 alumni and friends of the college. Over past decade, the tournament has raised nearly $162,000 to benefit the Ron and Joyce Schipper Scholarship and the Forever Dutch initiative. Friday also featured the annual running of the lemmings and the crowning of the court by Jo Vander Wal Harmeling '52, Central’s 1951 Homecoming queen. The Dutch beat Buena Vista on Saturday, winning 62 - 20. Congratulations to Rachelle Annen '18, who came the closest to guessing the final score! Concerts filled Douwstra Auditorium Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to all who attended! We can't wait until Sept. 27 - 29, 2019, when we welcome you back home again! Watch the sights and sounds from Homecoming 2018.
