The University of Texas at Austin Construction Advisory

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Beginning Aug. 9, 2021, and expected through late fall 2022, the Blanton Museum of Art (BMA) will undergo a major renovation of its grounds. The museum will remain open for the duration of the project. Travelers and pedestrians should be aware of these current and upcoming road, walkway and bike parking impacts:

Pedestrians will be re-routed around the BMA campus. Signage for pedestrians will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding.
Lane closures along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Brazos Street will occur at various times, but one lane will be open throughout the project.
The existing marked bike path along the north edge of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. will be closed at various times. Cyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map for routes in the area.
Temporary bicycle racks will be located adjacent to the temporary entrance to the museum on Brazos Street.
