Hello BHS Community - we have nearly reached our two week winter break which always feels a little bit like sliding into home plate headfirst…! Here is wishing everyone a much deserved and needed two weeks off to step away from our daily routine a bit, relax, and practice self-care in whichever way may suit you.
We have celebrated wonderful community traditions in the last month including an outstanding production of our fall play, A Wrinkle In Time, fall sports successes both regionally and at the state level, our newly reformed debate team competing in their first tourney, a successful food drive and nearing the conclusion of our holiday toy drive, and acts of kindness throughout our campus in so many ways each day. It is always a joy to be in our school community!
In the new year we intend to find continued ways to partner with the adults in our students’ lives as we work in partnership to support and co-navigate the many ways in which being a high school student in 2022 remains starkly different than the experiences that we adults experienced even as recently as 10+ years ago. There is much to consider as we work to support our youth in both the academic and social/emotional aspects of these pivotal years. Please reach out to us anytime you would like to discuss ways we can support you in this journey and look for upcoming announcements from the school coming soon.
Wishing you a peaceful vacation and a happy new year!
Kristina Rodgers, BHS Principal
