	Employee Spotlight – Craig Freeman, General Manager
	Craig joined Wilson Communications in March 2020 as the new General Manager of Wilson Communications. Craig grew up in Camp Point, IL and attended Central High School where he graduated in 1991. He went on to attend Southern Illinois University. Craig is married to Krystyna, or KC as we all know her, for 26 years. Craig and KC have three daughters, Elizabeth, Eve and Nadia. They also are parents to 3 cats, Mumford, Malcom and Elfie. Craig is responsible for all the daily operations of Wilson Communications. Prior to joining our team he began working for a local telephone cooperative right out of high school (nearly 30 years ago!) and has been in the industry ever since. Over the years he has worked as a service technician, system planner, managed competitive services and, most recently, he worked for ANPI/Inteliquent as their manager for tandem switching and vertical broadband service products. When asked what he liked most about working for Wilson Communications he replied, "Working with the people. We have a great group of employees." Adding, "I would really like to try this Wilson thing without a global pandemic," when asked what he liked least. Craig is currently a board member for the Ellsworth County Healthcare Foundation, Ellsworth County Economic Development and Kansas Pride Inc. Q: Favorite sports teams? A: Chicago Cubs Q: Thinking back to when you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? A: I always thought I would be in the restaurant business...I spent a lot of time in my Aunt Sandy's diner when I was younger. Q: How about now? A: I'm pretty happy with the decision to work in the rural telephone communications field. Q: Where are you most likely to be found on a Saturday afternoon? A: During COVID times, we typically are at the lake on one of the trails when the weather cooperates. But in normal times, we will work really hard to find a fun spot with some live music. Q: If you were to retire tomorrow and had to pass along a piece of advice to your replacement, what would you say? A: Try not to start the new job at the onset of a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic. Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? A: Is the ability to heal a superpower? That seems like a pretty good one to have. Q: Anything else you want to share? A: I just really appreciate how patient and inviting the employees have been with me. A new manager is a big change and I really feel like everyone has been very open-minded as we implemented the changes. Thanks, Craig! We are happy have you on our team!
