Holiday Events
July 4 - Join the Delta Cultural Center for a unique Helena 4th of July celebration. This event will take place near the Cherry Street Pavilion in Helena, Arkansas. Music will follow at the air conditioned Miller Annex on Cherry Street from 10:45 - 11:45, featuring blues by Keith Johnson. In addition to Civil War re-enactors demonstrating artillery fire, local historian Jack Myers will discuss the navy and how to tie ship knots. Our 4th of July event is free and open to the public. Because much of the event is outside, it is recommended that eveyone dress properly and stay hydrated. For more information, please contact our Education Coordinator at 870-338-4350.
Educational Department
July 6 - "DCC Children's Music Series" Join the DCC for a fun and educational series with children, where they participate in activities, games and crafts at the Depot Museum on Cherry Street in Helena. The program will teach youngsters about the July 4 Holiday and all participants will make their own American Flag. Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Ages 5 - 10.
July 20 - "DCC Children's Music Series" Join the DCC for a fun and educational series with children, where they participate in activities, games and crafts at the Depot Museum on Cherry Street in Helena. The program will deal with traditional Delta music and all participants will make a simple musical craft to carry home. Time 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Ages 5 - 10.

September 24 - "Pioneers and the Delta" The DCC Curator and Education Coordinator will conduct a program discussing mercantilism in the early Arkansas Delta and at Arkansas Post. There will also be a keelboat with re-enactors for visitors and school groups to interact. This program will take place at the DCC Visitor's Center on Cherry Street in Helena.
