- I would like to give a shout-out to Ms. Lakeisha Reid, math coach at Lucille Brown MS, for spreading holiday joy and cheer at today's "Sparking & Bright" Spirit Day. Ms. Reid brought her "A" game today!!
- I’d like to send a shout-out to all of the PHSSA faculty and staff who worked so hard to put on Homecoming for the 3rd-5th graders and last year’s alumni! It was a fun-filled great time!
- Enes Kanter Freedom is an NBA free agent and a 2022 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. He visited Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts to talk to students about being great global citizens and to share some of his basketball skills. Local author and global educator Tina Ramirez read her book Fruitopia to the students. The book discusses the importance of people from different communities learning to work and live peacefully together. The Mighty Acorns learned a lot from our guests at Hardwired Global!
- Shout-out to Mr. Mark Wenberg, our wonderful ITRT, who is able to fix anything and everything and get us up and running whenever we call upon him! Thank you, Mr. Wenberg! You make teaching and learning even better at the marvelous Miles J. Jones Elementary!
- The Linwood Holton PTA would like to give a big shout-out and thank you to Mrs. Hooker, Ms. York, Mr. Dansbach, Ms. Darby, Ms. Scambos, Ms. Tam, Mrs. Easter, and Ms. Tunstall for teaching after-school fall enrichment classes for our students. Teachers, your support and engagement in these after-school classes means so much to our community, and the Holton family is lucky to have you.
- A huge thank you goes to Lynn Bragga and the team! No matter what is needed, they are always ready to assist at any time. You are appreciated!
- A shout-out goes to the PHSSA SPMT for all of their hard work and dedication to the betterment of the learning community. Teamwork makes the dream work!
- Thank you to the School Climate and Culture Committee at Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts for Homecoming 2022! From the decorations to the joyful atmosphere, thank you for making a memorable evening at our school.
- RCEEA convened its first student council meeting this afternoon. Thank you to council members Ernest, Ben'Nita and Maria for sharing ideas related to celebrating students and instructional activities. Special recognition goes to Ms. Lewis for organizing RCEEA's student council. Prior to the election, Ms. Lewis taught students about campaigning and voting. Candidates were tasked with giving speeches and creating posters. As principal of RCEEA, I am looking forward to working with our newly formed student council.
- I'd like to shout-out Mohamed Bangoura for helping me not once, not twice, but three times this week! And always cheerfully! Thanks, Mohamed, it's always a pleasure!
- I'd like to shout-out Ashley Bland for always, every single time, being there for me, no matter how big or small the issue is!! Thanks for always taking my call (or text!), Ashley!!
- I'd like to shout-out Ms. Cardwell, compliance coordinator at T.C. Boushall Middle School, for dropping everything to help me this morning! You rock, Ms. Cardwell!
- I'd like to shout-out Wilber Arias, a 12th grader at Open High School, for coming back to middle school to volunteer! I'm so proud of you, Wilber!!
- Shout-out to Mr. Williamson at Miles Jones! He always goes above and beyond and keeps our building extremely clean! Thank you so much for all you and your crew did in preparation for our winter programs. He addressed every single one of our needs and more for the first music program at MJJ in years! Can't thank you enough for being so caring, driven, and hardworking.
- I’d like to give a wonderful shout-out to Southampton Elementary School for an entertaining Winter Concert! And a special shout out goes to Mr. Mansaray and his awesome choir of talented little singers!
- Kudos to Rachel Campbell at G.H Reid Elementary. One of her students transferred to my classroom at another school within RPS. Without me reaching out prior, Rachel decided to reach out to me to ensure that her student had an easy transfer from one classroom to the next. Thank you for doing this!
- I would like a big shout-out to Mrs. Freeze, kindergarten teacher at John B. Cary. She is on leave recovering from surgery and in the meantime has been dearly missed by our son and all her class. Wishing her the best on her recovery!
