- Shout out to the heroes that wear aprons!! Ms. Mosby and Ms. Evelyn, the only two people that operate the kitchen at Mary Munford ES, make it happen without missing a beat!! This week, I was able to see these ladies in action and they get the job done! I would just like the district to know they rock!!!! Ladies, you are amazing!! Thank you!!
- Teamwork makes the dream work!! Shout out to all of RPS Family Liaisons and a special shout out to the Northside/West End Hub: Katrina Jackson, Michelle Jordan, Thomas Washington, Nathaniel Hendricks, Takita Brown, and Courtney Jackson under the awesome leadership of Nannette Bailey!! Your work is being noticed and greatly appreciated! Keep going!! Great job team!!
- Huge shout out to my co-teacher Ms. Germain! Despite it all, she shows up with a positive attitude that is so contagious. She started playing music every Friday morning for the students coming in, and I know they look forward to it. She greets every student who walks by our door as if she was our own. She puts her heart into everything she does for the students and I am very lucky to have her on my team.
- Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary would like to shout out the Richmond West Breakfast Lions Club and Dr. Kathy Bauer for the incredible donation towards our Triple-A student and parent incentives! They blessed us beyond measure and we are so thankful to be able to share these items with our deserving students and families.
- I want to shout out to Ms. Calloway Williams, who gave me a test kit when I could not find one. In addition, shout out to Nurse Parris, who answered all my questions about the symptoms and shared great advice when I was worried about my six-month-old baby. She answered all my text messages around six o’clock when she was at her home in the evening. In addition, shout out to Ms. Wood (ICC), who stepped in the IEP meeting when she acknowledged I might need her help today. I know few people in RPS, but I think J. L. Francis ES has all great people. I am so grateful to be part of Francis and RPS.
- I have to give a great big shoutout to Mr. Daniel Nelson. He has helped get our department staffed over the last 6 months. He has changed his job duties, but always still answers any questions we may have. Thanks for all you do, Dan!
- Woodville ES’s Spelling Bee was fantastic! Congratulations to our winner, Nasir, and runner-up, Kaliyjah! A special thank you to our student participants; our host/coordinator, Ms. McCann; moderator, Ms. Turner; and judges, Ms. Simpson, Mrs. Berry-Hale, and Ms. Malloy. Great work, Team Woodville!
- I would love to shout out our wonderful nurse, Nurse Alice Perry, at J. H. Blackwell Elementary School. The grace she demonstrates towards others during this pandemic, despite her growing list of responsibilities, is absolutely amazing. I am so appreciative to have her on my team as she has been extremely instrumental in ensuring accurate information is provided to our staff and families. When she is needed to assist other buildings, she does so without hesitation and I just wanted to let her know Blackwell ES Bears appreciate her for all the hard work she is doing. Thank you so much!
- I'd like to give a shout-out to our Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary faculty, staff, students, and community for their resilience and dedication to each other. This school year, our students have correctly solved over 650,000 math facts online using Reflex Math and our goal is 1 million! We appreciate every RPS district team member who has covered a class, taught a lesson, helped out in the office, and/or built a positive relationship with a student over the last two weeks. As a building principal, it is wonderful to witness and participate in this positive synergy.
