| Graduations – Our graduation ceremonies continue this week at The Diamond (3001 N Arthur Ashe Blvd) with one important change. Due to severe weather predicted for tomorrow morning, the Armstrong HS ceremony will now be held at 4 pm tomorrow, June 14. - Shout-out to Ms. Gwaltney, ESL teacher at Broad Rock ES, for leading all of kindergarten in Zumba today when their field trip got canceled due to the heat index. The kids loved it!! Thanks for always leading with love.
- Shout-out to the staff at Franklin Military Academy for their diligent work in collecting 1,165 cans for FeedMore. Shout-out to Mr. Elie and his students who collected over 200 cans. Shout-out to Mr. Patterson for organizing the pick-up with FeedMore and all of the students that gave.
- A huge shout-out of gratitude to Ms. Helen Mikens-Demena, director of talent acquisition! Ms. Mikens Demena took an hour to meet with a cohort of educators to discuss various aspects of talent acquisition and retention. This is during the busiest time of year for her and she was so generous with her time in sharing her expertise. We are grateful!
- Shout-out to Mrs. R. Jones with RVA for her incredible work with the scholars of RVA on the morning announcements! Hoot Hoot!
- Shout-out to Dr. Robinson, the principal of RVA, for her thoughtfulness toward all scholars, teachers, staff, and families at RVA. Continue to use your gifts to uplift and encourage everyone to stand in their greatness as you stand in yours! Hoot Hoot!
- A huge shout-out to the intensive support mentor teachers, Keri Lagow, Charlotte Lucas, Tammy Sellers, and Amanda Dailey! Thank you for making sure each of our intensive support ESY teachers were able to receive their instructional and resource materials during Saturday’s training. Your hard work and attention to detail were abundantly evident
- Shout-out to Ms. Forshay, Ms. Scambos, and Ms. Jones at Linwood Holton ES. The kindergarten teachers came out to see their students play their last soccer game on Friday evening. The kids were so excited to have their teachers there, and it was so sweet of the teachers to spend their precious free time supporting their students!
- Huge shout-out to the Career Day Committee at Miles Jones ES! Career Day couldn’t have run smoothly without you! Thank you so much for your teamwork and willingness to help create an amazing morning for our students. You are appreciated!
