BISD
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Sakai Families,

Happy Spring! A huge congratulations to Mrs. Gibbs and our FANTASTIC Sakai Choir for participating in the Olympic Music Educators Association Choir Festival. They joined other choirs from around the region and received top marks from the judges. They represented themselves and our school amazingly and we are so proud of them! Did you hear that Sakai’s Choir was also chosen to sing the National Anthem at the April 17th Mariners game? We will have a link coming soon to order tickets and support them.
PTO is hosting a Family Bingo Night on the evening of April 28th. More information will be coming from PTO, however, we are collecting donations for prizes. As you do your spring cleaning, consider donating lightly used toys. Ideas include lightly used complete board games, books, or stuffed animals. Donations can be dropped off in the office.
Both Woodward and Sakai are staffing and scheduling for next year. In doing so, we want to ensure we are placing students in a math class that is a good fit for them. If you haven’t already, please complete the Math survey with your student. See the information below.
Thank you for the outpouring of love for our classified staff last week. It was much appreciated! This week’s Family Dare is called, “Pick Up Game”. Grab your old basketball, soccer ball, baseball, kickball, etc., and head to the park or backyard to play together. Better yet, gather some neighbors or friends and see if you can get a community game going with families and kids.
Have a great week, Sakai!
Drew
MATH INFORMATION
Both Sakai and Woodward are starting to look at math placement for students next year and want to ensure students are placed in the math course that best meets their needs. Please look over the math course options for the next school year and then complete the short survey with your student.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's math teacher. It would be helpful to have your completed survey by March 31st.
