Dear Members of the Harvard Chan School Community:
We hope you were able to enjoy the warm temperatures this weekend. With classes and finals over, we are looking forward to our upcoming Graduation ceremonies for the Classes of 2022 and 2020-2021, and the return of in-person celebrations after a two-year absence.
As you may recall, the last day of required COVID-19 testing at Harvard Chan School was Friday, May 13. As a result, we want to make you aware of some updates and policy changes:
Testing
COVID-19 testing is now optional. However, you may still test as often as you would like, and we encourage you to test regularly if you plan to be on campus frequently. Test kits will still be available at FXB, Kresge, 90 Smith, and Landmark 3 entrances, and results will continue to be reported in Color. New employees should continue to sign up for a Color account.
Anyone with symptoms or known exposure should continue to test. If you test positive using a Color or rapid antigen test, notify HUHS through Crimson Clear.
Beginning May 30, the only drop-off location in Longwood will be at the Harvard Medical School’s New Research Building (NRB) at the entrance on Avenue Louis Pasteur. Tests will be picked up once each day at 9:00 AM. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the University is consolidating the number of pick-up sites across its campuses.
Campus access
Effective today, May 16, the Harvard Chan campus is now open to all HUID card holders. Please note that people should continue to tap in and tap out as they enter and leave the buildings. Also, visitors are once again welcome, but will need a visitor’s pass to access the buildings.
With the end of the academic year, we realize that people and groups may be planning social events. If so, please be aware that COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts have been trending up. Therefore, we encourage you to hold any gatherings outdoors when possible, and wear masks if indoors.
Thank you so much for all of your tireless efforts this year as we continued to confront pandemic challenges. We certainly haven’t been surprised by how our community has risen to meet these challenges and we are grateful to be part of such a collaborative, mission-driven community. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our graduating students and returning alumni next week.
