HOLIDAY DRIVE THANK YOU!
200 Books Collected for Foster Children
From The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Goodnight, Moon, to Cat in the Hat and Barnyard Dance, foster children throughout the Portland metro area will cherish their very own storybooks thanks to the generosity of AWC Kruse Woods members.
If you saw the overflowing donation box in our reception area, you won’t be surprised to learn that YOU donated more than 200 books during the month of December!
With Love - a nonprofit organization that supports foster families with necessary resources such as clothing, diapers, and toys - is thrilled to be able to give these vulnerable children a welcome distraction as they navigate a challenging time in their lives.
AWC Kruse Woods member and With Love volunteer Mary Hope was overwhelmed by your response, “Many children entering foster care have never owned their own books,” she said. “Your donations will provide interest and comfort to this deserving group of children. “Having worked in education for 20 years, I have seen the importance of reading for cognitive development in children. Books open up a world of imagination and possibilities for each child we serve, and we are grateful for your donations.”
Thank you, Kruse Woods members, for your kindness and support!
