The Office of Immersion Resources is committed to supporting students through all phases of Immersion planning. Our office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We currently offer in-person, Zoom and phone advising on the Immersion portal. Students can also send an email to immersion@vanderbilt.edu with questions. 
The Office of Immersion Resources student newsletter provides up-to-date information on Immersion events and programs for the week ahead. These events are open to all students, whether they are pursuing Immersion or they want to know more about a given topic.

All are welcome to the Nichols Humanitarian Fund Reception & Open House! The Nichols Humanitarian Fund assists students in the creation of a service learning project. Recipients can conduct projects domestically or in a location the univeristy will sponsor.
The reception is an opportunity to celebrate the Nichols Fund cohort ’21 as we launch the application cycle for Summer 2022.
Meet Mr. & Mrs. Nichols, learn from past recipients, and enjoy a dinner on the SLC patio.

Submissions are now being accepted for the Fall 2021 Vanderbilt Undergraduate Creative Expression Showcase on Wednesday, November 17 in the Student Life Center Board of Trust Room. The showcase will feature student-created projects that are representative of a variety of fields and disciplines. It is open to all undergraduate students across the university who wish to showcase creative works they have completed during their time at Vanderbilt under the guidance of a faculty member. Students may register to present their creative works via performance, presentation at an easel or table, or via a digital presentation at a table.

Submission applications for the Fall 2021 VUCES will remain open through Thursday, November 4.

Are you interested in applying to the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Summer Research Program (VUSRP)? The Office of Immersion Resources invites you to attend upcoming events to provide more information about the program and to assist you in preparing materials for your application. 
October 26, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. - VUSRP Info Session (Zoom)
October 28, 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. - Writing Workshop Session 1 (Location TBD)
November 11, 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. - Writing Workshop Session 2 (Location TBD)

VUSRP provides a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills by working closely with a faculty member on joint research efforts. Applicants are expected to identify their own faculty mentor and must gain that professor’s sponsorship prior to applying.
Applications open October 26, 2021.

The Department of African American Diaspora Studies welcomes students to complete an Immersion within this field of study! Interested students will develop skillsets in writing a memoir/autobiographical, publication-ready text while also engaging in an internship coinciding with the African American Diaspora Studies Journal. Fall Research Match

Scientific Immersion and Mentorship (SIM), in partnership with the Office of Immersion Resources (OIR), is hosting its annual Fall Research Match on October 18th, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. in the Student Life Center (SLC) Ballroom. This is an opportunity for you to engage with PIs from a variety of disciplines (Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, etc.) and explore the cutting edge research being done across Vanderbilt's campus. Following the Match, PIs will reach out to the students that they are interested in working with.
