   WELLNESS.UNT.EDU
To keep wellbeing top of mind for our community, UNT’s new wellness.unt.edu website brings together a comprehensive list of available resources to help students, faculty, and staff address their own wellness needs. The site provides information and resources in nine different areas of wellbeing – emotional, creative, intellectual, occupational, environmental, spiritual, financial, physical and social. President Smatresk encourages UNT community members to keep wellness top of mind: “Now more than ever, it's important to take time to remember that we need to care for each other, our students and ourselves.” Explore the resources available to you and make this year a time to reengage and help make wellness a top priority at UNT and in your own life.

   MLK DAY
Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day) is a holiday marking King's birthday. King was the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement. The holiday is observed on every third Monday in January and is a time for people to reflect on the importance of racial equality, nonviolent change and community service. The university will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, but there are lots of ways to serve on this day. Join the Multicultural Center, UNT Outreach, and Center for Leadership and Service for the MLK Jr. Day of Service  Monday, Jan. 16.
  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Collin County NAACP President June Jenkins will deliver a keynote speech in the Business Leadership Building. Registration is required and brunch is provided.
  • 2:30 p.m. UNT will join the City of Denton to march from Fred Moore Park to the MLK Center.

   RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS
Looking to start your semester strong? UNT has several resources for students to use throughout the semester. The Learning Center offers a variety of tutoring options designed to help you succeed in your classes. Tutors can answer questions, check your approach to concepts and offer alternative solutions to problems. Check out the Tutoring Services website to schedule one-on-one sessions, join a drop-in tutoring session, or submit a specific question that you need help with.

If you have food needs, check out the Food Pantry, brought to you through a UNT and Kroger partnership. Students can come by during open hours to complete a sign-up form, and a staff member will pack a food bag. Check the pantry’s hours to see when it’s open this month and for updates on later times.

  COMPLETE CARE
UNT is rolling out Complete Care, which pairs UrbanSitters' childcare, pet care, senior care and household services with Kinside’s marketplace of daycares and preschools to provide affordable, high-quality coverage of care. Every caregiver must pass a background check and profiles are reviewed systemically by the UrbanSitters' team. Each Kinside childcare program has passed proprietary safety and vetting. If you have any questions, check out the Complete Care user guide and learn how you can enroll today (be sure to use your UNT email address when you enroll). You can even earn extra cash by signing up to become a provider. Watch for upcoming webinars about these services.

  TIKTOK BLOCK
In case you missed it last month, Gov. Greg Abbott ordered all Texas agencies, including public universities, to prohibit the use of TikTok on any government-issued device. UNT has complied with the governor's order. No one connected to UNT’s network — whether wired or using Wi-Fi — can access TikTok.
