Dear Friends

In the twelve years that I've been sending out newsletters under the Modern Blues Harmonica banner, I've only asked for favors a couple of times.  This is one of those times.
My recently-published book, Whose Blues? Facing Up to Race and the Future of the Music, has been nominated for an award by Living Blues Magazine.  It's one of those readers-choice awards where the magazine's readers--and crucially, all others who care--may vote for their favorite.
Competition this year is unusually fierce.  Three of the other books--the first three in the list above--were authored by friends of mine.  In fact, I blurbed Phil Wiggins and Frank Matheis's Sweet Bitter Blues so warmly that the publisher ended up putting my blurb in pole position on the back cover.
Point is, there's no dishonor in NOT winning this year.  But I'd still like to win.  And I'd appreciate your vote.  You can vote by clicking THIS LINK and then making your way down through the categories, voting as you see fit, until you reach the bottom, where "Best Blues Book of 2020" resides.  I am the seventh and final choice.
Yes, it's a bit of a hassle, but I know you're up to it!  You are a valued member of the Modern Blues Harmonica community, and there is power in collective action--a power that only lives when individuals rise to the occasion.  I would very, very, very, very much appreciate your vote.

Thanks in advance,
Adam
