Call for Proposals for UTC 8.0Deadline: January 21, 2023
| |
The UN-Habitat, World Urban Campaign has issued a call for proposals for Urban Thinkers Campuses to take place in 2023. The deadline for submission of proposals is 21 January 2023 for UTCs to take place between 15 February and 30 November 2023.
The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) is conceived as an open space for critical exchange between urban researchers, professionals, and decision-makers who believe that urbanization is an opportunity and can lead to positive urban transformations. It is meant to contribute to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. P4CA organized three UTCs in past rounds. It would be great to see new proposals coming from our group, either branded as P4CA proposals or coming from organizations that are represented among our members.
For 2023 (UTCs 8.0), proposals should be themed around the WUC campaign, The City We Need Now, and may contribute to understanding and/or action with respect to its ten Action Areas: Health and Well-Being, Peace and Safety, Climate Adaptation and Resilience, Inclusion and Gender Equity, Economic Opportunity for All, Culture and Identity, Local Governance, Urban Planning and Design, Housing, Services and Mobility, and Learning and Innovation.
Hosting a UTC is a great way to share the results of your work with an urban development-attentive global audience and to raise the prominence of our institutions among those active in sustainable cities work.

Deadline: January 6, 2023

The Georgia Tech Career Center invites you to sign up as a host for The Ford First-Gen Job Shadow Program.
The Ford First-Gen Job Shadow Program allows students to learn about careers by shadowing alumni and employers (hosts) in fields of their interest. Students can gain career insights and guidance while building confidence in networking with professional connections.
The program will include two engagement points between hosts and students. 1. Virtual Informational Interviews Meeting; February 6-March 17 2. In-Person Shadowing Day; March 17-April 21 – Shadow Days
The program is an excellent opportunity for students to explore a career area to which they might otherwise not have exposure, gather advice, and build alums and employer connections in their career area of interest.
Why participate? Hosting a student can be a fun and rewarding experience! You can advise, influence, and support students as they explore careers.
You'll find that your career can be enhanced by the time and effort you put into helping a student as you hone your coaching skills and become familiar with the new generation entering the workforce.
