Happy Labor Day!
We will be closed Monday September 6th in observation of the holiday. We will resume lessons and rehearsals on Tuesday, September 7th. Enjoy your day off!  This is one of the holiday closures that is built into your tuition schedule so there will not be make ups offered.

Summer shows are coming up!

Our Summer 2021 Performance Program season is reaching it's end with two great shows lined up for the first two weekends in October and all are invited! We will be posting specific show details shortly so keep an eye out in your show groups and in box.  For those of you who are new or wondering what School of Rock is all about, this is the perfect way to understand what we do and have a fun, family-friendly thing to do.  We hope to see you there!

House Band Rocks Relay For Life

House Band will be playing at the Loudoun County Relay for Life on September 19th at 2:30 PM. Relay for Life is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the mission of the American Cancer Society. We are so excited to be part of this wonderful event, and hope you'll be there to cheer on not just our House Band but this great cause as well!

House Band/JV Auditions are Coming in November.  Do you have what it takes?

Auditions for our House Bands are coming up! Our House Band and JV House Band represent the best our school has to offer. If your Performance Program student is looking for more opportunities to play on a more serious level, take on more leadership roles, and gain more real life performance opportunities, please plan on attending our required Parent and Student Interest Meeting via Zoom on October 22nd at 7 pm. We will go over the commitment, and other details prior to your signing up for your audition.  Hope to see you there!

What's your favorite thing about School of Rock? My favorite thing about SoR is that you're able to be around musicians of all different levels which makes it so easy to learn from the experiences of people around me.
If you could sit down with any famous musician, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would love to sit down with Victor Wooten because he is so chill and has so much to offer in terms of musicality. It doesn't matter what you play he always has advice for you to play better and they way he approaches teaching is so easily understandable. He is just an awesome person.
What advice do you have for new students?
Don't just wait for your teacher to teach you things. If you want to learn something go try to learn it and bring questions for your teachers because I'm sure they will either try to figure it out with you or help you learn it!

Welcome to The Band!

Our ranks are swelling! A Warm Welcome to Daniel I., Chloe I., Ryan K., Ethan K., Logen K., Varun P., Cassidy C., Dominic C., Akash B., Amelia B., Kelden G., Amira M., Gavin T., and Charlie P.!
We know you are going to do great things!

Staying The Course with Our Covid 19 Protocols

We remain committed to erring on the side of caution and will continue to require all who enter the building to be masked up for now along with our other protocols.  We are very aware that we have many students under the age of 12 who cannot be vaccinated and want to ensure we do all we can as a community to keep each other safe.  We are so grateful to everyone for their vigilance in staying home if not feeling well too.  Jess can go over our all protocols if you have any questions.  Thanks for helping us and for your continued support of our safety measures.

Back-To-School = Tight Schedule

We are already feeling the back-to-school influx of students and this summer, we have already grown beyond where we were in June.  Which is to say, the schedule is tightening and filling up earlier than usual.  If you took the summer off, now is the time to call to ensure you have a lesson time that works.  Call Jess on 703-858-0820 or email her on jeflores@schoolofrock.com

We're Hiring As Fast As We Can!

We would also like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we juggle the schedule.  We are super picky about who we hire and right now finding the right staff is just a little bit harder than usual.  If you know a musician who would make the cut and might want some side work, please send them over to us.
