Students can apply now for financial aid assistance related to COVID-19 from The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II).
Say wha? You can apply now for funds that the university received from HEERF II specifically to give financial aid grants to students.
Why are they trying to give me money? These funds can be used for any part of your cost of attendance or emergency costs from COVID, like tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or childcare.
Money, please: Top priority will be given to students showing exceptional financial need on the FAFSA and grant amounts generally won’t be more than $2,500 per person. Eligibility is not guaranteed. To apply, UM students should complete the application form. For more information and FAQs, visit this page.
Pros: Application is easy, money is nice to have and graduate and professional students are eligible, too.
Cons: I mean, none. You’ll spend a few minutes of your life filling out a form and you might get paid for it.
