Spreading joy to COVID heroes who are HERE every day

On Thursday afternoon, seven University Enterprises and Events leaders, dressed like they were headed to a Notre Dame tailgate, prepared to cheer on the Fighting Irish: staff and faculty who have kept the University humming during a pandemic. Surreal football weekend on campus thanks to COVID-19

The first home football game of the season was Saturday. Face masks and physical distancing were required inside the stadium as the game was played for the smallest crowd in more than 80 years. Even without a pep rally or tailgates, students told Notre Dame Magazine being at the game felt almost normal amid all the precautions of this academic year. (More...)


Fighting for compassion in medicine

The start of the Notre Dame football season is also the kickoff of the "What would you fight for?" series. During home football games on NBC, an original two-minute piece airs telling the story of members of the Notre Dame family who fight for solutions to a world in need. Building Bridges to underrepresented students 

When Yamil Colón arrived on campus as an undergraduate, he hadn't spent much time off the island of Puerto Rico. Colón found his way at Notre Dame thanks to the support he received from Multicultural Student Programs and Services. Now he's back as a tenure-track assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering. He is also part of Building Bridges, an MSPS program that pairs underrepresented and minority students with faculty mentors. (More...)
