As we all work to figure out what our "new normal" is, our thoughts are with you and your families and we hope you are staying safe and healthy. With the novel coronavirus (COVID19) global pandemic continuing to affect our community and the country, we continue to work hard to assure that everyone that wants and needs Internet service continues to receive it during this pandemic.

Working to keep you connected: Our technicians are continuing to make house calls to install or repair essential services; however, as previously communicated, we are performing work from outside the home. For the safety of both our customers and our technicians, we are not entering homes and we have provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all our technicians for use when working near others.

Supporting our students and schools: As the Coronavirus pandemic has forced schools across the nation to close their facilities and quickly implement online learning programs, ValuNet FIBER has worked with our local educational institutions to provide complimentary Wi-Fi in our Downtown, as well as prioritizing those in need of an Internet connection with the goal to help students, teachers, and administrators safely and successfully finish the school year from home. Over the next few months, we intend to work with the financial institutions, City of Emporia and other local organizations to determine what else can or should be done to keep our community connected.

Ensuring network monitoring and performance: Our network is continuing to be monitored 24/7 to maintain reliability and performance. While bandwidth needs of the community have increased significantly, we still have twice the capacity of our current usage available to us, allowing our network to operate smoothly. What does that mean for you, our customer? It means we are still able to provide you with your full speed and bandwidth, every minute of every day. No slowdowns and no buffering! (If you feel you are currently experiencing issues with your service, please call us so we can further troubleshoot with you.)

Our team is ready to assist: Our lobby remains closed to the public; however, we do have some of our staff in the building and they are practicing social distancing to perform their work. A large part of our customer service, sales team and technical support representatives, are working from home and continue to be available during normal business hours to help you order service, answer billing questions, or troubleshoot a problem.

Finally, as individual states and counties look to open their economy, we want to assure you that safety is our top priority. Because of that, the social distancing and cleaning procedures that have become a way of life for all of us are now staples of the way we run our operations. ValuNet FIBER is closely following CDC and KDHE guidelines for cleanliness and social distancing. We have robust protocols for handling all equipment to be installed in homes and are taking precautions to avoid transmission of any illness by a ValuNet FIBER employee.

I am extremely proud of how our employees have been able to continually adapt to this crisis and rise to the occasion to serve our customers. From our customer care and sales teams that are working extra hours to provide support for our current and new customers, to our technicians who continue to perform installation and service appointments, and the engineers who are keeping the network functioning at the highest level, I have been truly amazed and inspired by their actions and am proud of their commitment to our customers and our community.

Thank you for continuing to trust us with your Internet, HDTV and telephone needs. All of us here at ValuNet FIBER truly appreciate your business and will continue to work hard to assure you stay connected!

Please stay safe and healthy.
