- Shout-out to Ms. Shenk at Albert Hill and Ms. Rios at George Wythe for winning the March MATHness competition. Their classes had the highest average number of questions correct on IXL from March 1st to March 31st.
- I would like to shout-out Ms. Marquetta Bagley-Smith with Transportation. I have had two different situations come up this week dealing with transportation for students that have either changed schools or are new to the district and she was able to help me get their transportation situated in a timely manner. Thank you, Ms. Smith.
- Shout-out to Dr. Hampton and the rest of the staff and teachers at Maymont Preschool for the Eggstravaganza! What a fun way to kick off spring break. A lot of time and hard work went into pulling off this event.
- Shout-out to Ms. Goode at Ginter Park. She is the reservoir of so much information and she is generous in sharing it to help anyone with anything. And she's positive and pleasant while juggling cats, making the office a pleasant place to be always!
- I would like to shout-out the best occupation therapist there is: Ms.Tiffany Rivenburgh. She’s so kind and a wonderful resource. When I moved to my new school I was so excited to be working with Tiffany again. She’s a joy and pleasure. My kids adore her. She brings good insight to my IEP meetings and to my classroom. Thank you, Tiffany, for the amazing and individualized resources!
- Happy Assistant Principal Week to Ms. Travis, AP at Southampton Elementary. You always show your Southampton pride! Thank you for assisting us in the building in every way possible. You engage in lessons, serve as trusted adult for many students, and always crack jokes to keep us smiling. Thank you for your leadership.
- Natasha Thomas, ICC at Southampton, you are a rockstar. You consistently model strategies and interventions that benefit our students. You always lend a listening ear and helping hand when staff need assistance. Thank you!
- Just sending love and appreciation to the Southampton dancing queen, Mrs. Crews, our principal. You are a joy to work with. Thank you for smiling and dancing through the hard times. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.
- I would like to acknowledge two staff members at Henderson Middle School. Special thanks and deep appreciation to Ms. Lenora, CIS coordinator, and Dr. Evans, library specialist. These two ladies are excellent in every area of our school, very helpful, and supportive around our building.
- The Kiwanis Club of Richmond would like to give a special shout-out to all of the GW Carver Elementary scholars who participated in the book fair. We commend you for your engagement during this event.
- Shout-out to Elissa Graves at Oak-Grove Bellemeade Elementary School for being an incredible leader to our second grade team. There isn't a problem she can't fix and she gives 100% on everything she does!
- Shout-out to Shanni Merritte, Adryan Baskin, Elissa Graves, and Pamela Carter at Oak-Grove Bellemeade Elementary for being the supportive and loving teammates that every teacher needs! We are stronger together!
- Students at G.H. Reid Elementary School received a generous donation of 397 new coats from Operation WARM funded by Shelton Hardaway Short Trust. Ms. Khavon Watson, the school's student intervention liaison, secured this partnership. G.H. Reid Elementary was the only school in the district to receive this donation. It has been an absolute joy to watch the students receive new coats with big smiles.

| 2023-24 Preschool & Kindergarten Enrollment – Preschool and kindergarten enrollment is underway! We offer preschool for eligible 3 and 4-year olds, and kindergarten for all 5-year-olds living in Richmond. If your student is currently enrolled at an RPS preschool, they will still need to register for kindergarten. For more information, please email enrollrps@rvaschools.net.

| RPS Shines – This May, we're hosting our Second Annual RPS Shines, a special evening to recognize and honor our life-changing teachers, principals, and support staff. You can help us celebrate these amazing individuals in two ways: 1) by nominating RPS educators for our divisionwide awards; 2) by supporting RPS Shines with a donation to the Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation. Thank you!
