Thrive! Committees: Call for Nominations

Thrive! is pleased to announce openings on each of our committees: Communications, Engagement, Mentoring, and Professional Development & Networking, as well as the Thrive! Ambassadors group. We invite all members to consider nominating themselves for one or more of these roles.
Leadership positions in Thrive! allow you to play a tangible role in enhancing the environment for women at Notre Dame while developing your own leadership skills in a low-risk, supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to build your network outside of your working group as well as gain exposure to speakers and campus leaders. Committees also offer a place to learn and demonstrate skills you may not have the opportunity to use in your current position.
If you are interested in a committee opportunity, please complete the Thrive! Self Nomination Form by April 10, 2020. If you know someone who would be great, encourage her to apply too! Committee positions are one-year terms beginning July 1; members may serve up to three consecutive terms.
The selection of the Thrive! Committees will be administered by the Thrive! Officers and Steering Committee Chair, with the University's diversity statement in mind.
Decisions will be announced by mid-May to give new, continuing, and outgoing committee members an opportunity to work together on transition planning.

International Women's Day

Sunday, March 8 was International Women's Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The University is marking the occasion with the launch of its fifth annual Women Lead feature highlighting faculty from each of the colleges and schools. This inspired a new Thrive! effort to celebrate the achievements of all Notre Dame women by sharing their promotions, certifications, awards, and major projects with the University community.
Tell us about your accomplishments here and we will post them in our Facebook group

Thrive! Lunch Pairings

The Professional Development and Networking Committee will offer another round of Thrive! Lunch Pairings. Simply complete this form to sign up and Thrive! will randomly pair you with a lunch partner.
You and your lunch partner will schedule your own date, time, and location. You will cover your own tab and may each bring one friend or colleague if you would like, and that person does not need to be a member of Thrive! to participate.
If you are interested, please sign up by 5 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 27.
Contact Jessica Schiller at jschill2@nd.edu or at 574-631-7923 if you have any questions.

Expand Your Network
A spotlight section intended to grow connections at Notre Dame

Name: Kaitlyn Reeves
Title: Advisor, International Student & Scholar Affairs
What's the most important lesson you've learned in your career to date?
I've learned that not everything has to be big and not everything has to be all at once — you don't have to show up with a full-fledged strategic plan to make a significant impact in your work.
Change often occurs little by little right under our noses, but adds up over time. I've learned that tracking and leaning into these 1-degree shifts is essential.
If you’re thinking "I haven't made any progress on this initiative,” pause to reflect on all the small things you've accomplished that feed into those higher-level goals. You'll often be surprised!
Grow your connections at Notre Dame and help others get to know you! Simply complete this form and we will feature you in an upcoming issue and on our website!
