- We are so grateful for Courtney Williams at PHSSA. Not only is she an exceptional teacher that challenges our third grader in all the right ways, but she values each of her students with kindness, respect and love! I know Ms. Williams keeps the class fun and light because our daughter wouldn't miss a day and when she's home from school, playing school, can you guess her name? It's Courtney Williams! Now, that's love!
- I would like to shout-out Ms. Hudson, principal at PHSSA. She is constantly finding ways to encourage and support her staff. Feeling appreciated makes coming to work a pleasure!
- I would like to shout-out Melicka Finney, Diarra Vick, and Rocio Aquino at River City Middle School for being the best ELA team a new teacher could ask for. I don't know how I would have survived this year without them!
- I would like to shout-out Mr. Clark at Linwood Holton for being an essential, influential person in the building. My child admires and looks up to him. He teaches life lessons and is preparing the kids for the future!
- Summer Hill gives a huge thank you to our office associate, Adrienne Simms. She spreads sunshine and joy in the front office to our parents, students, and staff on a daily basis. Thank you for your hot coffee every morning, your sweet treats every afternoon, and all you do to keep us paid, enrolled, and the school running! You are appreciated!
- Huge shout-out to Studio Two Three for coming out to Franklin and working with our 8th grade students to create their 8th grade class t-shirts! A secondary shout-out goes out to CPT Valence (our earth science RTR resident) for suggesting this awesome, one-of-a-kind opportunity!
| |
| - I would like to shout-out Kenaz Greene, CTE specialist, for writing and receiving the Competitive Innovative Program Equipment Grant. This grant can be used to purchase drones, controllers and software for the Governor’s STEM Academy at the Richmond Technical Center. Congratulations on your hard work and dedication!
- I would like to shout-out Ms. McCloud and Dr. Evans at Henderson Middle School for helping the science department give out a mock science SOL. They ensured that each of the students and teachers had Chromebooks so the mock SOL could be given out to each student.
- Career Day at J.L. Francis Elementary School was a Blast! We had hands-on activities, food, and tons of professionals – engineers, doctors, nurses, police and fire personnel, an NFL cheerleader, a children’s author, chefs, a news anchor, and a state senator. The day was perfect. Our 3rd-5th grade speaker, Ms. GeNienne Samuels, anchor at Channel 6, encouraged our students to choose a career that they love. Children’s author Mary Smith spoke about careers to the K-2nd grade classes. And to cap it off, we had words of wisdom from Senator Lamont Bagby. The Career Day was sponsored by Antuane “Ramon” Moore and Mrs. Jacqueline Robinson (Aunty Jackie), both Francis school counselors.
| |
| - A huge shout out to Mrs. Waters for spearheading the Bellevue Run Club and many thanks to all the staff who supported the students – from months of training to coordinating/chaperoning the team's big race last weekend. It was such a fun morning running the Monument Ave 10k Mini. The kids had a blast & were proud of their accomplishment thanks to your hard work!
