| Sports Backers Scholar Athlete of the Month – Congratulations to Emanuel Wright-Anthony, a remarkable senior at John Marshall HS, for being named Sports Backers Scholar-Athlete of the Month! A decorated track star, Emanuel has the third highest GPA in his class, is a member of the National Honor Society, and served on my Student Advisory Council. In the Fall, he will be attending Virginia State University on a presidential scholarship where he will study computer engineering!

- I would like to send a grateful shout-out to Ms. Deborah Smith, reading interventionist at Southampton Elementary School, for all she does for our students and staff. Not only does she support our students to help them become lifelong readers, but she also wears many hats at Southampton. - A sincerely grateful shout-out to Katalina Valdes, Cardinal Elementary's CIS site coordinator! Mrs. Valdes sets a very high standard for what it looks like to partner with school staff and build bridges between the community and school. There is no "ask" from A to Z that Mrs. Valdes is not willing to collaborate on and create solutions for, and she does it all with so much love and care for our students and families. Mrs. Valdes, the work you do as a CIS coordinator is top tier and so special. Thank you!!
- Big big shout-out to Southampton Elementary School staff, PTA, students, parents, and volunteers. The Southampton Spring Fling was a wonderful event full of community fun!
- Congratulations to Ms. Maria Dominguez and Ms. Ester Orellana, two of our amazing LIEP teachers at Huguenot High School, for completing their master's degrees this semester. ¡Felicidades!

- Shout-out to Katie Hines and Liane Bain at Fox Elementary for providing math support to our fifth graders all year. They taught math strategies, gave daily encouragement to both students and teachers, and modeled every day that Fox is Love! We appreciate you!
- The Blackwell Preschool moving on ceremonies were awesome!! Blackwell Preschool moving on committee, all staff, everyone that works in the building, you all are top-notch!!
- Shout-out to the classroom teachers at Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary School who show up and show out!! We are holding it down each and every day. I'm proud to be a part of such a dedicated group of educators. We got this!!!
- Thank you, Principal Dabney, administration, and staff members for creating a Care & Safety Associate Day for the CSAs at MLK MS. In our position, sometimes we feel overlooked, but we are sincerely honored and appreciative of the love that we receive. Thank you for acknowledging our hard work and dedication to the students and staff.
- The dance and theatre students from Binford Middle School recently had a community outreach performance at The Petersburg Home for Ladies. The students had so much fun sharing their many talents with the residents. One student's great-grandmother had a front row seat! It was a great day!

She did a brilliant job bringing together community partners in celebration of Cinco De Mayo and our Spring Fling event! A special shout-out to Dr. Cooper-Cravey, Ms. Noble, Mr. Johnson and Dr. Johnney for organizing the festivities. Also, thank you, Dr. Pitts and Ms. McKoy, for preparing food for teachers and volunteers to enjoy. What a wonderful experience for students, teachers and families.
