Weekly Member Memo

WINELOVE Weekend

March 19-21, 2021 ~  43 Wineries
We have now sold 380 access/passes
Please let me know when you have sold out for any of the days. This is VERY, VERY important.  I will add it to the website, so customers know in advance of making their purchase.
I mailed little "WInelove Weekend" stickers to the participating wineries. Use them that weekend - stick them on your customers, or your price sheets - whatever. I don't have more.
You can share this video. Winelove Weekend

Member May ~ Monday to Monday ~ May 24-31

When the Board of Directors met last week, using your comments and feedback from the survey, they have elected to hold off Barrel Tasting until March 2022.
We will however promote an event in May, called Member May ~ Monday to Monday.  This will be an opportunity for YOU to allow visitors to be a "wine club member for the day". We will create a program where YOU list what offer(s) ticker holders will get when they visit.  Customers will buy their ticket online and bring it to each winery they visit for the week. It will be one price, $75 they can use it as many days as they want. We will require reservations at each winery - we are NOT going to use Cellar Pass. We are gong to have wineries manage their own reservations. You can control the days you want to participate and how long your reservations are (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes). MORE DETAILS will be sent out next week.  We realize Covid restrictions are changing, which we will incorporate in our plans.
I will also want to hear from all of our wineries that will participate in Winelove this weekend, so we know what the problems or issues were, before we outline Member May.

Red Tier

This is literally no different from the purple tier for wineries...unless you serve a "meal" with your tasting. In that case, you can serve indoors, with a meal at 25% capacity. Wineries need to use the ABC guidelines for meals and that does not include a charcuterie board, salads or premade sandwiches. Sorry - still working with the Wine Institute to see if those ABC guidelines will be changed/updated/clarified. It's ridiculous.
This is the Sonoma County Guidelines.

Easter Egg Barrel Hunt ~ a video you can share

March 6 - April 11, 2021
I mailed each participant a small sign to "push pin" onto your barrel, so visitors know there are 30 more...and to take a selfie and share it - tag @thewineroad and #eastereggbarrels & #wineroasdbarrels.  This is the file for the sign if you want to make more, bigger, better etc.

Barrel Tasting Week - postponed until March 2022.

When we do Barrel Tasting, we need to do it right. March is the prime time for selling futures, we need to be able to invite visitors into the cellar and we need to have the funds to properly promote our signature event.
