| Dear Graduate School Community,
I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you on your outstanding achievements in 2023. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and you should be proud of yourselves for completing another year of research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.
To our recent graduates, a special congratulations. As you embark on the next phase of your lives, I encourage you to continue to pursue your passions, embrace new challenges, and make a positive impact in your communities.
As we move into the summer, I want to remind you of the summer programming that the Graduate and Postdoc Academic Success team has planned. Stacey Satchell and Nick Hyer are offering individual success planning sessions and Critical Conversations programming; I hope that you take advantage of these opportunities.

Graduate Leadership Institute The Graduate Leadership Institute (GLI) provides students with the skills, tools, and self-awareness that will allow them to lead at all levels. GLI offers programming that facilitates a greater understanding of personal leadership style and interactions with others, in addition to practical technical skills and business acumen that can be overlooked when strictly focusing on research skills. The GLI also offers 1:1 Clifton Strengths Coaching. See the following grants that GLI has to offer below.

2023 ASPIRE Annual Career Symposium: A Kaleidoscope of Biomedical Science Careers Sponsored by the BRET Office of Career Development ASPIRE Program and the Training Grants in the Biomedical and Biological Sciences, the Annual Career Symposium explores the many paths a biomedical science Ph.D. student can take. Reaching The Peak: A Science & Technology Early Career Summit Registration is open for Reaching the Peak: A Science & Technology Early Career Summit Series; sessions will be held throughout the month of June. It will allow early career researchers to explore an array of career paths, network with fellow researchers, participate in professional development workshops, and engage in meaningful discussions around issues critical to the success of the R&D ecosystem.

Summer Dissertation Writers’ Retreat The Summer Dissertation Writers' Retreat is designed to provide dissertating students with a community of support and opportunities for goal setting and skill building alongside loosely structured time to work individually on writing projects. Registration is required by Thursday, tomorrow, May 18. To participate, please complete a registration form. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by Monday, May 22, and asked to confirm their participation by Thursday, May 25. The retreat will be held on June 5-9.
